Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, the Fulbright U.S. Student Program offers opportunities for recent graduates, graduate students, and developing professionals and artists to conduct career-launching study and research abroad. There are also opportunities to teach English in countries around the world.

Applicants must be US Citizens by October of the application year. Depending on the country of application, foreign language proficiency may not be expected, so long as it isn't essential for your proposal's feasibility. See the country and grant type pages on Fulbright's site to learn whether they require, recommend, or do not expect knowledge of the host language.
